About Region 4b MRC Volunteer Database

In 2006, the Advanced Practice Center began working with health directors in Region 4b of Massachusetts to recruit and train volunteers for a Medical Reserve Corps that would serve the region. In disastrous situations, such as Hurricane Katrina and the Southeast Asia tsunami, volunteers can be called upon to deliver medical care, interpret for individuals who do not speak English, or provide administrative support. Volunteers also have the opportunity to assist local health departments in the region with routine activities, including flu clinics and health screenings. The Region 4b MRC Volunteer Management System is a secure, online system that helps manage the needs of MRC, including volunteer screening, badging, training and deploying.
